COFCAWE works with schools as the entry point to empower children and parents with knowledge on children’s rights and responsibilities. The trainings are conducted among 45 school girls and boys who are meant to be peer educators in the target schools. Parents of the trained peer educators are equipped with knowledge on positive parenting, safeguarding and gender issues. The trained children and parents form behavior change clubs and parental guidance clubs respectively.

COFCAWE supports the formed children behavior change clubs with a set of musical instruments with the aim of enabling trained peer educators to reach out to others through music dance and drama. These activities attract masses to gather and the peers pass on the positive behavior change messages through songs. It’s an effective strategy because as people come to enjoy the music and dance, they get the messages intended for them.
